RSS Bread of Life

  • Eliphaz continues to insist, wrongly, that Job’s suffering is the of result of some secret sin that Job has committed. On the other hand, he argues, the Lord will reward faithfulness.
  • In a misguided attempt to comfort Job, Eliphaz reminds Job of his faithfulness in the past. He argues that righteous people do not experience suffering. Therefore, Job must have sinned in some way to have merited his present suffering.
