  • Joash repairs the temple of the Lord. Joash kills Zechariah, son of Jehoiada. The servants of Joash assassinate him.
  • Joash becomes King of Judah. Athaliah attempts to resist Joash and is put to death. Jehoiada the priest reforms Judah, destroying the house of Baal and reinstating proper temple worship.
