From its beginning, the Church of the Lutheran Confession has considered a Christian Education of utmost importance to both the children being trained and the future of the synod. The need for God-fearing lay people, pastors, and teachers will always be present. Thanks to the recently established EduK8 Fund, the Board of Education & Publishing (BoEP) of the CLC has been able to assist congregations in their mission to train up their young people “in the way they should go.”

The EduK8 Fund was established and continues to be supported by the members of the CLC through their donations to the fund. The BoEP uses those donations to meet the needs of congregations who contact them with funding requests of many types.

Immediate Impact of the EduK8 Fund

  1. Peace Thru Christ Lutheran Church of Middleton, WI, was granted funding for the purpose of a curriculum purchase, shelving construction, and teaching assistance

  2. Grace Lutheran Church and School of Valentine, NE, was granted funding to maintain current staffing levels for the upcoming year.

  3. Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Madison Heights, MI, has plans to start a school in the Fall of 2026 and the EduK8 Fund will be helping the effort.

To date, the members of the CLC have provided $41,000 to help two existing schools and are committed to assisting in the creation of a new school with projected funding of $_____________ over a five year period.

EduK8–A Worthwhile Investment

From the beginnings of the CLC, Christian education has always been a priority investment. God’s grace and steadfast love can be recounted in story after story in the history of our synod’s efforts to start and maintain Christian schools.

The Lutheran Spokesman February 1, 2024 gives more details about this effort.
